Cumberland Transit

Cumberland Transit thinks that being outdoors isn’t just an activity: It’s a lifestyle. Life is just more fun when you get moving. And no matter what you need to get out and have a good time, they’ve got you covered. With decades of combined knowledge and experience—not to mention a super friendly and approachable nature—their staff can outfit you for every adventure.

Cumberland Transit started in 1971, with 10 bikes for sale in the front window of a copy center. Since then, they’ve grown into Nashville’s oldest and largest locally-owned outdoors and adventure retailer. Whether you’ve been training for a high-altitude trek or you’re looking for comfortable activewear for the weekends, their knowledgeable staff will steer you in the right direction. And they'll do it with a smile, too. Their rustic atmosphere and wide array of gear from brands you can trust has their community touting them as the Best in Nashville in the Nashville Scene and Nashville Business Journal.

Their owners and employees are passionate about the great outdoors—and they are even more dedicated to helping people tap into new adventures. You can feel the supportive, friendly atmosphere created by our expert staff as soon as you walk through the doors. At Cumberland Transit, they believe in connecting people to the gear they need to learn new skills, find new interests, and keep doing the things they love.
